Keeping you in touch with Opportunities in Asia.

Tube Singapore 2003 wire Singapore, Southeast Asia’s leading trade fair for the wire, cable, fibre optic, spring and fastener industries, has become an important platform for those who seek to find and to keep in touch with the opportunities available in Asia.

Premiered in 1995, wire Singapore is the Asian version of wire Düsseldorf, the world’s no. 1 trade fair for wire and cable. wire Singapore has established itself as the most effective and efficient forum to gain access to Asia. Exhibitors have benefited from showcasing their cutting edge technologies, new machinery, new equipment and accessories. They were able to meet the buyers and decision makers in the industry face to face, promote and maintain their corporate presence as well as assess the potentials of the Southeast Asian markets. Visitors, on the other hand, were able to acquire comprehensive information on products, materials, technology and equipment and meet the industry experts. These are the very reasons why visitors have acclaimed wire Singapore as “the” leading trade show for the region’s wire, cable and the various industries it serves.

Held for the fifth time in Singapore, the 2003 staging of wire Singapore will provide the industry with solutions and peripherals for the region’s industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure and construction development.

ASEAN - of strategic importance

With Southeast Asia getting ready for recovery and with signs of positive growth in the horizon, the region’s economic prospects are projected to be brighter. It is projected that from 2003 onwards Southeast Asia’s export sector will benefit from the renewed growth in the US and EU and also from the much anticipated world trade growth. The ASEAN free-trade area (AFTA) is also expected to raise the levels of regional trade by 2003.

ASEAN member countries are now looking into strengthening the region as an economic grouping through the formation of an ASEAN Economic Community. Having a more realistic appreciation of its strength and weaknesses and to compete in the global economy, it is the intention of ASEAN to integrate their markets to form a common economic space for manufacturing and other sectors. The ASEAN economic integration will no doubt change the economic structure of the individual member countries. Take for example the electronics sector, Southeast Asia is already a single economic space. Components for products such as television sets and personal computers are made in various parts of Southeast Asia.

As a region, ASEAN will be of strategic importance to countries such as USA, Japan, China, Australia and Europe.

Industrial and manufacturing sectors - main growth impetus

The main growth impetus for most ASEAN countries will come from the industrial and manufacturing sectors which is expected to rebound in tandem with the projected recovery of the US in 2003. This will pave the way for the resumption of a steady and sustained growth pattern in the region’s economy. Analysts are also projecting a surge in world trade by then.

Southeast Asian countries, through the many years of investments, have a good industrial base, sound infrastructure and a reservoir of skilled workers. Situated at the crossroads for East and West, Southeast Asia has always been outward looking and open to trade.

Act Now - Be There!

More and more serious buyers from Asia are congregating at wire Singapore in search of wire and cable technologies, wire manufacturing and wire finishing machinery, spring making and fastener machinery. No one should miss this opportunity to meet with the investments in materials, machinery, equipment and technologies.
