A sound source for medical and healthcare technology, products and services

From 10 to 12 September 2002, decision-makers in healthcare purchasing from all over the region will be able to source for their needs at HOSPIMedica ASIA 2002. From medical technology, hospital and laboratory equipment, wheelchairs, furniture and furnishings, disposables, diagnostic equipment, orthopaedic products, blood pressure monitors, surgical instruments, sensors, life support systems and many more medical devices and emergency, rehabilitation equipment and solutions will be on display in Halls 601 and 602 of Suntec Singapore.

Recognised as the most important medical and healthcare platform in Southeast Asia, the exhibition has attracted some 300 exhibiting companies and distributors from over 30 countries. Since its inception in 1997, the exhibition has tremendous support from various national groups. At the 2002 exhibition, the following groups will be present:

Austria
The Austrian group is co-ordinated by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. Several Austrian companies will be represented at the group stand offering laboratory equipment, blood-collection systems, microscopes, hospital management systems, etc. Exhibiting companies include:

Belgium
The Belgian pavilion is organized by the association Hospibel, an export club of Belgian companies active in the area of supply of goods and services for medical and hospital purposes. Belgian companies that are participating at HOSPIMedica ASIA are:
» Beria (autonomous perfusion apparatus)
» Biomedical systems (ECG medical devices)
» Coris bioconcept (immunochromatographic tests for Rotavirus detection and Adenovirus detection)
» LET (ECG appliances)
» Spacebel (computer based solutions for medical information management)
» Tricolast (medical silicone sheets)

Finland
Co-ordinated by FINPRO, the Finnish pavilion presents several interesting companies, demonstrating the versatility of the Finnish health care business.
» Pensi Rescue offers pre-hospital and emergency products for effective patient care in industry, sport events, ships and in ambulances and patient transport vehicles.
»Wipak Medical, one of the leading packaging companies, specialises in medical packaging applications. Their products include the see-through pouches and rolls, marketed under the well-known and appreciated STERIKING brand name.
»Innokas Medical offers the PTC Product line, which is a modular series of physiotherapy treatment units for physiotherapy professionals.
»Hankintatukku provides health food supplements and natural remedies. The range includes tablets, capsules, herbal extracts, liquids and natural cosmetics.

France
The French Business Centre of Singapore's main objective is to help French companies to develop business in Asia. FBC is convinced that it is good step and a good investment for French companies to participate in HOSPIMedica ASIA. This is the second time FBC is co-ordinating the French pavilion. For the 2002 edition, companies registered under the French Pavilion include:

» Bio-Omega (specialising in producing high quality refurbished clinical laboratory instruments, biochemistry, haematology, immunology, haemostasis, analyzers and others)
» Medical Innovation (exhibiting MIDBAND - an adjustable peri gastric belt which is implantable by coelioscopy)
» Medysis (provider of refurbished ultrasound systems for cardiology, radiology, gynaecology/obstetrics and vascular.
» Plastique Gosselin (manufacturer of disposable lab plastics, also specialising in clinical and laboratories providing custom packing, labelled products and other services

Germany
Making its third appearance at HOSPIMedica ASIA, the German pavilion is co-ordinated by the NRW Federation of Chambers. NRW or North Rhine-Westphalia is Germany's premier pharmaceutical location and a base for global players in the fields of medical engineering, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and services. The state is also the number one region for biotech start-ups. The companies represented at the German pavilion are:

Korea
The Korean pavilion, co-ordinated by the Korea Medical Instruments Industrial Co-operative (KMIC), will be represented by the following companies showcasing a wide range of products and services from the medical and healthcare industry in Korea.

Spain
The Spanish pavilion is co-ordinated by the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (FENIN) which groups more than 300 firms from the medical equipment sector in Spain, national and multinational firms, big and small, manufacturing and exporting, importing and distributing firms, and represents all their interests in health matters. The industrial sectors represented by FENIN are: Electromedicine, In Vitro diagnostic, Nephrology, Cardiovascular, Neurosurgery and Pain Treatment, Implants for Orthopaedy and Traumathology Surgery, Orthopaedy, Disposable products, Dental Technology, Optics and Ophthalmology, Accessories, Health Services. Exhibiting companies include:
