01 November 2000 Press Release November 2000 For immediate release Integrated Solutions For Process Automation In Today's Asia The 2nd presentation of ICAM ASIA, International Trade Fair for Industrial Control, Automation and Measurement will be held from 5 to 8 June 2001 at the Singapore Expo. With positive growth prospects and healthy GDP forecasted for the next five years and beyond, the Asian markets continue to appeal to many long-term investors. The potentials in investment and sales volume in the process technology sector looks promising and companies are willing to invest where technology and productivity are concerned. More and more countries are acknowledging the need to industrialise their economies and as such there is a constant need for intelligent measurement and automation technology. Eminently, the oil, refinery, chemical, biotechnology, petrochemical industries amongst others would require due attention owing to their growing importance to the region's economy. ICAM ASIA 2001's objective is to meet the new challenges and demands of the industries and will be tasked to provide the region with updated technical information, new products and services that will boost output, increase productivity and efficiency and protect the environment at the same time. The trade fair will present a solution-oriented, networked environment for technology in process control, instrumentation, measurement and automation. Organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, ICAM ASIA 2001 is expected to attract some 120 exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries. Some of the exhibits that are expected to be on display will include turnkey solutions for industrial automation, analytical instruments, testing and calibration equipment and detectors, measuring equipment and sensors, control and application software, web-based technology and many others. ICAM ASIA 2001 is endorsed by the APFICS, the Asia Pacific Federation of Instrumentation and Control Societies. Their support enhances the significance of the event that will provide an instrumental link for all exhibitors and visitors across the Asia Pacific region. ICAM ASIA 2001 also has the support of INTERKAMA, the world's number one trade fair for automation in production and business process. INTERKAMA is organized by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. Held in conjunction with ICAM ASIA 2001 are the following events that will add value to the trade fair as well as provide synergy and integrate solutions for total enterprise automation.
